In 2016, I joined the Board of a Japanese solar startup founded by two American friends. My wife and I parlayed a recent three-day business meeting there into a three-week tour.
As usual, I focused on people and place. Japan feels both familiar and exotic at the same time, physically beautiful, culturally rich, fully modern but with touches of antiquity.
