I derive inspiration from Hiroshi Sugimoto’s Seascapes series, created around the world over several decades beginning in the 1980s. They present simplicity – water and air – that is minimal and timeless.
Mine differ in several ways: colorful; verticals; confined geographically in Truro MA; created within a few months; not all tranquil seas; and with occasional hints of humankind. In the flat and timeless time of covid, they present variation and wonder.
