We parlayed a three-day business meeting (I’m on the Board of a Japanese solar company) into a three-week tour. It was perhaps my sixth trip to Japan, but the first not totally devoted to business.
As usual, I focused on people and place. Japan feels both familar and exotic at the same time. The bustle of Tokyo and Starbucks feel familiar. But sushi in that quantity and Buddhist temples and Shinto shrines, not so much.
